  • Dose-Dependent Cardioprotection of Pterocarpus indicus Extract in Rats With Myocardial Ischemia: Targeting Oxidative Stress, Inflammation, and Apoptosis December 12, 2025
CONCLUSION: P. indicus extract confers dose-dependent cardioprotection against ISO-induced myocardial injury through dual modulation of the Nrf2/HO-1 and Bax/Bcl-2/Caspase-3 pathways, with the medium dose (54 mg/kg) identified as optimally effective and well-tolerated.
  • Mediterranean Diet Adherence and Its Association with Inflammatory and Oxidative Stress Biomarkers in Asthma December 12, 2025
CONCLUSION: Greater adherence to the Mediterranean Diet is associated with lower systemic eosinophilic inflammation and enhanced antioxidant capacity in asthma patients. The data indicate that dietary interventions could serve as complementary strategies in asthma care, particularly for severe cases, and that oxidative-stress associations were present and strongest among patients with severe asthma.
  • Scars of oxidative stress: protein carbonylation and beta cell dysfunction in diabetes December 12, 2025
Type 1 and type 2 diabetes are characterized by a profound loss of functional β-cell mass, driven by mechanisms that are still not fully understood. A spectrum of β-cell stressors drives this loss, including oxidative stress (OS). Unlike most cells, β-cells express unusually low levels of key antioxidant enzymes, rendering them highly susceptible to OS. […]
  • Ameliorative Effect of Vitamin C Against Tramadol-Induced Learning and Memory Impairment in Juvenile Rat Via Attenuation of Oxidative Stress and Dysfunctional Synaptic Plasticity December 12, 2025
Tramadol (TM) abuse negatively affects the central nervous system, especially brain regions like the hippocampus involved in cognition. Recent studies have demonstrated neuroprotective effects of Vitamin C (Vit C) in various neurological diseases. No study has yet examined the effects of Vit C on tramadol-induced synaptic plasticity impairment. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the neuroprotective […]
  • Vegetable Juice Fermented with Lactiplantibacillus plantarum WB3813 and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum WB3814 Alleviates H(2)O(2)-induced Oxidative Stress in Respiratory Models December 12, 2025
This study investigated the oxidative stress alleviating effects of vegetable juice (VJ) fermented with Lactiplantibacillus plantarum WB3813 and L. plantarum WB3814 using a H(2)O(2)-induced A549 cell model. Both WB3813 and WB3814 strains exhibited stable fermentation characteristics in VJ, supporting their suitability as starter cultures for developing plant-based probiotic products. Fermentation enhanced antioxidant activity, with WB3814-VJ […]
