Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup rice
  • 7 cups water or broth
  • 1 Tbsp ginger diced
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • salt to taste

Optional Ingredients

  • Cilantro
  • Sauté mushrooms
  • scallions or green onions
  • sesame seeds
  • chili garlic oil
  • oyster sauce

Instructions

  • In a pot add rice, water, ginger, white pepper, salt, and bring to a boil. While stirring occasionally simmer until it becomes thick porridge like consistency. Serve in bowls and top with any or all the optional ingredients.
